19 months

Baby O,
It's been a long time since I've written you a letter.  I think it may have been your 1st birthday.  Now seven months later, so much has changed.  You've grown, you talk, follow directions and even push your chair in after sitting at the table.   Just the other day we were scolding Emma to stop hitting the glass cupboard, you walked over to her pointing your chubby little finger and said "No NO" plain as day. I simply could not stop laughing.  You ramble on in conversation, in a language all your own but you know exactly what you want and what it's going on.  The past few months you've been OBSESSED with "cookie" bars, mommy doesn't have the heart to tell you they're actually cereal bars.  Your favorite word for the past month has been Molly.  I hear it about 100 times a day.  Runner up, Shoes.  You also say eat, Cece, baby, Uh oh, MINE (ugh.), Ow, Hi, Bye Bye, MOM (you like to yell this at me, over and over), Banana (which comes out Nonnya), Emma, eye (while pointing at it. this was actually your first real word).  Now that you've discovered your voice, you haven't been signing as much.
Climbing is your favorite past time, on the couch or bed over and over again.
A couple days ago, you were in your room playing I hear the light switch click.  You my smart little monkey brought one of your play drums over, stood on top of it and off the light went. One of my favorite moments that will stick with me for a long time, you found one of my little purses put it on your arm, walked over to the door, waved / said "Bye Bye" and closed the door.
FOOD!  You love to "eat eat".  Right now all the summer fruits are your favorite.  Peaches, pears, nectarines, apricots, berries pretty much any fruit I give you, you'll eat with no complaint.  I had you a whole one, chomp it down and ask for more. Veggies we need to work on, you like puree (you always want to eat Emma's food) but the texture of the real thing gets to you. Green beans are a winner though.
You are starting to dress yourself. Around about 15 months you starting taking your clothes off, now it's fun to try and put them back on.  You're getting pretty good at it.  You're working hard at trying to master shoes.
It took you 15 months but you've finally gotten the hang of sleeping through the night.  It happened the same time I weaned you from the bottle.  By the 3rd day, you slept through the night.  It doesn't matter what time I put you to bed you wake up each and every morning between 7 and 7:30.  I can feed you breakfast and you'll usually lay back down for an hour or two.
I guess the biggest change that has happened at 16 months, 2 weeks and 5 days you became a big brother!  From the moment you met your little sister you were enamored.  Gramma set you on the hospital bed with me, brought her over to us and you reached out for her.  When we took her away you cried.  Now everyday when you wake up the first thing you do it run over to her, give her hugs and kisses.  I taught you how to say Cece in about 5 minutes flat, after you said it a few times, you reached down and patted her tummy saying "Cece" nearly making mommy cry as you looked up for approval.  "Yes, that's your Cece."  We were all laying on the big bed, while Mama watched "True Blood", you were getting a bit rambunctious crawling all over Cece, I picked her up.  That made you mad you reached for her "MINE, MINE!"  My hope for you is that you will always have this pure love and affection towards your baby sister.

Enjoying some fresh picked raspberries the neighbor sent over.
